Tarot Cards with Unique Imagery

It is very easy to occasionally neglect numeric meaning of cards in general contemplation or reading. In fact, tarot cards are packed with unique imagery and their numbers should not be taken as simply cataloging device, as they open up a new monarchy of methodology and mysticism.

The Lovers is seventh card, numbered as six. A blissful being or angel Raphael hovers in sky, below the Sun. He, in the imagery of card, is looking down on two figures, a woman and a man.

The women shows subconscious mind, The Empress and High Priestess while man standing by her side represents the Emperor and the Magician. Behind women, is a tree of wisdom and serpent wind through the branches and gives tempting fruit. In some card decks, the tarot cards are portrayed as a person standing between 2 women and being enforced to make choice between.

Then it is The Chariot – 7 whose pictorial representation is quite impressive. A handsome, strong looking man guides a ‘chariot’ pulled by sphinxes. He is in fact a victorious leader who is coming back home with win in hands. On the head, he puts on a crown with star, indicating his victory over all that he surveys.

When this strength card appears reversed, it symbolizes success which is not ethical and go through lying, cheating and manipulating other persons to get own way. Upside down, ‘charioteer’ is an individual who can not have charge of his physical strengths or emotions which may ultimately show the way to his defeat.
